Her 18-month incarceration, which ultimately resulted in an acquittal, set off the nationwide “Free Angela Davis” movement among activists and artists. T-shirts, posters, pins and other merchandise was made as part of consciousness-raising efforts. There were chapters across the country, including New York, Oakland/Bay Area, Chicago and more.
