About: In Ndebele culture, women are the sole practitioners of Ndebele art in rural communities in South Africa. Traditionally, beadwork and crafts are their primary means of earning an income. This style of initiation doll is in the traditional dress of an Ndebele married woman, and typically gifted from a mother to daughter after the daughter's initiation is complete.
