Description: Vintage rare poster from Dick Gregory's visit and speech at Linfield College, Oregon. Single-sided, cardstock and measures 14" wide x 18" tall. Toning and discoloration on both sides. Small writing/doodle on the back side. Was folded across at one point and retained the creasing. However, will ship flat and protected. See photos.
About: Dick Gregory gained attention as a comedian in the early 1960s, and was the first black comedian to widely win plaudits from white audiences. He was also noted for his political and social activism, beginning in the civil rights movement in the 1960s. He ran for Mayor of Chicago, IL in 1967 and then, for president in 1968 under the Freedom and Peace Party. He was on the ballot in eight states and received 47,133 votes.
