Description: Vintage Oil painting on canvas of a village scene by Clara Stanton Jones (1990). Measures 29.5” x 19.5” Painting is in good condition with some paint loss along the edges due to framing over time. Canvas and frame are both very stable and structurally-sound. 

About: Clara Stanton Jones (May 14, 1913 – September 30, 2012) was the first African-American president of the American Library Association, serving as its acting president from April 11 to July 22 in 1976 and then its president from July 22, 1976 to 1977. She was also appointed the director of the Detroit Public Library (1970–1978), becoming the first African-American director of a major city public library in the United States.
